The IVMP are pleased to announce the completion of the Moston colliery miners memorial garden. The garden contain a replica half pit winding wheel donated by the IVMP.
It is a fitting tribute to the coal miners who toiled in the pit and the many men and boys who were injured and died at Moston colliery.
The garden is sited next to the former lamp room and bathhouse the buildings were saved from being demolished by the magnificent effort and hard work of the Becket family Lou Paula, Joe, Ann and Matt plus a whole army of volunteers.
We owe Lou a debt of gratitude in saving the building and our preserving our coal mining history and heritage. The saved building now house the Moston miners community arts centre http://www.theminers.org.uk holds a small cinema and music venue which can e hired Please support Moston community arts centre and keep our mining heritage alive.
